‘Developing a Future Scientists’ Program
‘Developing Future Scientists” is a program conducted by Boehringer Ingelheim MENA in partnership with academics to facilitate the funding of the Research and Development for post/pre medical and science college researchers.
Boehringer Ingelheim has placed a great deal of emphasis on research and development (R&D). The program supports in aiding in the advancement of research, innovation, and medical education for academic centers and schools of medicine, pharmacy, and public health.
Boehringer Ingelheim firstly implemented this program in 2013 with the University of Sharjah in the UAE (UoS) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under the commitment of enhancing Research & Development skills for university students. By collaborating with UoS, Boehringer Ingelhim aims at reaching its goal of enriching students’ education with a practical understanding of the work taking place in our industry and the research field.
A series of workshops are organized by Sharjah University and Boehringer Ingelheim was targeted at senior medical students, aimed improving scientific training and building on educational partnership for students in the field of scientific research and health sciences.
Lujain Aloum, University of Sharjah-College of Pharmacy student, partly sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim ‘Developing Future Scientists Program’, has won two awards at the annual Think Science Competition in 2015, which is organized by Emirates Foundation for Youth Development. Pharmacy graduate, Lujain Aloum, and her teammates, Mohammad Rourou and Amer Koraiem, received first prize in the universities category for Applied Sciences and Engineering, as well as the grand prize for all sciences across UAE universities.
Support Awareness Campaigns MENA
Boehringer Ingelheim in the region is commitment to supporting awareness campaigns for stroke, lung cancer, cardiovascular, diabetes and respiratory diseases in partnership with authorities and different healthcare associations and organizations.
Commitment to supporting and driving good clinical practices, pharma-economics and pharmacovigilance (reporting adverse events for medication) are part of our key awareness programs.
