Access to Healthcare Pilot Program in Kenya
With a holistically integrated Access to Healthcare pilot program in Kenya, which will reflect all elements of our three-pillar strategic framework, we are exploring and evaluating differentiated approaches and models for broadening healthcare access for underserved communities within and across countries.
This integrated Access to Healthcare pilot program will include two tracks:
- Addressing Human Health: We will deliver an “Integrated Non-communicable diseases Care Model”, a program addressing stroke, myocardial infarction, diabetes and hypertension diseases. This program includes tiered-pricing, differentiated distribution models, treatment facilities setup, and disease management programs, including digital applications and awareness campaigns
- Addressing Animal Health: We will continue working on the “Last Mile” program focusing on registration, distribution of BI products and corresponding education for Kenyan farmers.
The implementation of this pilot in Kenya will be carried out in steps during 2018-20. Based on the results and learnings, we will scale it up, including other therapeutic areas and other countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America in 2020-25.
